Thankyou everybody for your help and advice, they said it will take a few months but at least I've got the ball rolling now. And there going to put a new no slip floor, new lighting, and cupboard under the sink, so will ne like a new bathroom hopefully. Will post again when it's all done and OH can have the shower he deserves.

Pleased to hear all this. The job we do is hard enough without bureaucracy getting in the way.

Isn't it just Marionq, it's getting really hard now, OH going downhill so fast. But hopefully at least he will be safer and easier to have his shower now.
    Thankyou.

I will do marionq but I think it's going to be a long drawn out procedure, not going to get done quickly and OH is getting worse with his mobility each day.

Oh my gosh, I cant believe it, all the hassle and stress about the walk in shower and eventually getting 50% grant. They came to finalise it all on Friday said what they would be doing and that they would pay half and now OH wants to cancel it, he says there a couple of cowboys just out to make money and hes not letting them have his money !!!!!! I've not tang them yet but hes asking every half hour if I have. Nightmare

Nightmare, indeed. Could you tell him you've cancelled and hope he drops the subject? But not cancel it of course. When the workmen are actually due, tell him the GP says YOU must have a wet room or YOU will have to go to hospital for a hip operation.

How much cognition does he have, can he see amount of any expense?

Would he believe - LA made a mistake, they got your age wrong (or anything else you can think of), it's all going to be free, we've hit the jackpot?

He says hes not discussing it and it's me that really wants the shower and I've been going on about it . Of course I told him I'm perfectly happy with bathroom as it is because I dont have a mobility problem and I was only pushing it for HIM. But hes not listening.
