My mom has recently had a CT scan as advised by the consultant at the memory clinic that she attends. We won't get the results for 4 weeks but I was wondering what information they will be able to give us and will they be able to tell us what stage she is at? They are suggesting she has Alzheimer's. Thank you.

I don’t think they can tell the stage, it’s so variable, not everybody does things according to the book, but they will be able to confirm Alzheimer’s and see things like vascular dementia ( you can have both).

Hello and welcome to TP. I hope you find this a supportive place. It’s true that the stages are so ‘fluid’ and variable that you are unlikely to be told anything about that.

You may find the following AS Publications useful, just follow the links https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/sites...nloads/factsheet_assessment_and_diagnosis.pdf
