Older LGBT+ people going into care may face specific challenges or have less contact with family.

Because of this, the organisation Opening Doors London created the Pride in Care standard. This is an accreditation which care homes can apply for to show that they work to support LGBT+ people in their care homes. You can read the details about the Pride in Care standard here.

It looks at staff training, policies, procedures and the experiences of people using those services.

You can read the Dementia Together article about the creation of the Pride in Care standard here.
