I am at the end of my strength with caring for my husband. Social services say he is not I'll enough to go into permanent care as he can still wash and dress himself. I really don't know what to do. My doctor, carer support worker his mental health nurse and consultant feel it is overdue. He is incontinent, refuses to walk and sits all day in his chair reading (l don't think he u detest ands v much) he also has reactive dysphasia

Didn't know social services were medically trained to make that decision!

At the very least, you need respite. And remember that no one person can be made to care for another. So have a strong word with SS and say that he needs to go in now! Or at least pretty soon, or you will be having Carers breakdown ( believe me you really don't want to go there!) and he will have to in at short notice as you won't be able. Stress all the people who have told you it is time for full time care.
Lay it all on pretty thick, burst into tears is probably good! Social workers only care for their budget!

Good luck!
