Hi
Just joined. My 80 year old dad has Alzheimer’s and has recently started wandering a t night. My mum is struggling with this as she isn’t getting her sleep which means she can’t cope in the daytime as well

Any suggestions would be welcome
Thankyou

Hello @jaynekeeney. This is a difficult stage for people with dementia, they days and nights get muddled and the need to wander about is overwhelmingly strong. It is therefore a stressful time for their carers as well as tiredness helps no one. Sundowning is very common.
It could be that your dad would benefit from some medication support to alleviate this. Talk with his GP or you can get further advice about this from the Admiral Nurses.
