I have recently taken on the role of carer for my 91 year old father who is waiting for a diagnosis, suspected dementia. My father had a fall and spent 3 weeks in hospital with broken ribs and fluid on his chest/lungs. He has been living with us for 3 months, and I didn't realise how much care he needed.

Hello and welcome. You can never be told this often enough, but, thank you for everything you're doing.
Thank you from us all. K

Hi @jayne2404

I think we all seriously underestimate how much care someone with dementia will need, even if we think we know.
Make sure you arrange for periods when you can have a break

Thank you, have him booked for respite twice a week, it gives him a change of scenery and other people to interact with whilst giving me time to catch up on everyday chores. They are a godsend and I know he is safe there
