Our lovely Mum has Alzheimer’s and 2 weeks ago we had to put her into fabulous care home in Bradford on Avon. We all work full time & have families but Mummy likes trips out everyday which is a struggle for us. To find someone who would take her out for a cuppa once or twice a week would help us enormously, does anyone know of any support we could tap into please?

Hi @FBradshaw.....welcome to the forum. AgeUK might be a starting point

https://www.ageuk.org.uk/services/befriending-services/

otherwise is there a local church who might supply a volunteer to take her out? Or maybe you have a Dementia cafe or Lunch Club for Seniors (we used to call them Darby and Joan once upon a time, not sure what the accepted name is nowadays). I'm sure other more knowledgeable people will come along with advice for you soon

Welcome to TP, FBradshaw. My OH lives n her own flat and social services set her up with a befriending scheme where a lady from a care agency takes her out one day a week. That may be a solution for your mum. https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/find-support-near-you should give you some ideas of what is available in the Bradford-on-Avon area.
Others with more experience of care homes will be around to give you better advice, good luck.
