I have always dreaded this time. I had a call last Saturday to say that the doctor had ben called as Mom had developed a chest infection. Since then she has more or less stopped eating and drinking. 99% of the time she is in a deep sleep and cant be woken. The staff at the home are wonderful with her and are spending hours with her getting to drink. It took one of the carers 1 1/2 hours to give Mom half a yoghurt yesterday. I cant fault them. She has lost a lot of weight and looks a grey colour. Wish she would go to sleep for her sake. So sad!!!

Thinking about you. I was in your position 3 weeks ago. We too had wonderful carers looking after mum
