We currently have a carer from a care agency arranged through social services but we want to organise a private PA. Can anyone tell me if we have to arrange insurance to cover the times the carer is with My Oli and if so how do I go about arranging it. Many thanks.

I would think you would have to have insurance. I had personal carers for my husband but I employed them through the direct payments scheme. Our local Carers Centre organised that kind of thing and I paid for it out of lour budget.
I wondered if the information here would be of any help -

I have just been informed by our carer that he has been removed from the rosta so cannot come to care for my Oli this week. I have heard not one word from the care company itself. Carers time is 10.30. It will be interesting to see what happens. Meanwhile my poor husband is unable to have his few hours out and neither am I. On Thursday I have an appointment for a mammogram and I cannot take him with me. I am beyond angry.
