Hello, my mother in law has not eaten in weeks and sips a little water now and again. She now sleeps most of the time, and I wonder from other people's experience how long she may have left. She's calm and comfortable which is reasurring to the whole family, but realise that she is not going to improve or perk up, thankyou x

Hello @Mother in law m, welcome to TP although I’m sorry circumstances have made it necessary
It really sounds like she could be nearing the end, as you say she is peaceful and comfortable sometimes that is all you can ask for

Thank you for your reply. I'm trying to be the strong one for my husband and our children (young adults), though they seem to understand and are coping well at the moment. It's good to be able to "talk" to others x
