My grandad is fine in the morning but then gets in bad moods

My grandad is 82 and suffer at with vascular dementia, he wakes up in such a happy mood and the slightest thing makes him switch and he no longer wants to look at me or speak to me. I am just wondering if this is the case for anyone else? The triggers seem to be if I’m talking on the telephone- he doesn’t seem to like it..... anyone had anything like this?

Hello @Grace2326 . I'm glad your granddad wakes up in a happy mood at least. You mention that he seems to change if you are talking on the telephone. I'm guessing but it's possible that he thinks you are talking about him or he may possibly just be wanting your undivided attention. Are you able to use the 'phone in a different room, somewhere where he can't see or hear you? You may have to occupy him safely somehow beforehand. Worth a try. Other members may have more advice and ideas.
