How upsetting for you ... and actually, for whatever reason your husband is visiting those sites, it doesn't sound as though it's positive for him in any way as you say
As he's visiting so many, I'd guess he's just flipping between sites rather than taking an interest in any really (thank goodness he can't pay) ... so maybe it's boredom rather than interest and putting child safety settings on wouldn't cause him any particular distress
do have a chat with his GP as there may be meds to help his mood and the interest in porn
Maybe some other company while you are out might help, as you mention he's ok when your mum visits ... AgeUK have befrienders, so worth contacting them, and looking into day care or mens' sheds
