The power of music for PWd is very interesting.
My mum always enjoys listening to a good song.

She has difficulty speaking longer sentences, now. But there have been a couple of times when she's broken into song, and been word perfect.

Moreton, Wirral. UK.
At least once a day and sometimes for an hour or more we sit together listening, via ‘Alexa,’ to Boom Light radio or M4D (Music for dementia) radio. All the oldies and she sits with her eyes closed singing along and seemingly remembering the words of songs not heard in decades. Amazing.

Music was a big part of my husband’s life towards the end. Much more so than in pre dementia days. He was in our dementia choir until the week before he died.

I used this site to help me create a personal playlist.

Great information. Thanks so much for sharing it. Music reaches all of us. We need more of it in our homes.
