Mums 79th Birthday today .... sums up how I’m feeling

8 yrs later, Mum ( Violet) seems to be between late stage and precariously at end of life.
Mums birthday today, which may be her last, so this poem sums up how I feel at present.
Im not a poet, so sorry for the ramble ?

To Remember To Forget

What is this disease that steals so much......
A hug, a look, a kiss, kind words, a loving touch
Memories, sweet memories that can no longer be shared
Instead this thief of being, dementia has bared


To Remember To Forget
Words that mean much but yet mean nothing, no more

No hugs, a look, a kiss, kind word or a loving touch
Violet, sweet Violet, my mother loved so much
Thief of body, mind, and motion
Alzheimers has taken, devoid of emotion

Your journey Mum is nearing ends peace
Our hearts resigned of your burdened release
Our love for you, and all you have endured
Alzheimers will take, but your loving memory always assured
