My mum had an appointment booked for today to go and get her LPAs signed at the solicitors, I was stunned to get a call from her that it had been cancelled, on further investigation it transpired that the solicitor had phoned her to confirm the appointment, and then asked her that she was happy to sign, my mother said she wasn't sure, appointment was then cancelled and solicitors have asked her to think about it over the weekend! She has alzheimers!! Why on earth would the solicitor do this? Now my mum is saying she is happy to sign it! I am stunned that this happened as the appointment was all booked.

You could say that the solicitor was just doing their job, confirming that the person knows exactly what they were doing and why without coercion.
Maybe they have had clients just not turn up and were just reminding your Mum of the appointment?
