I'd like to know if anyone as had any experience of Korsikoff or alcohol dementia?
My Mother suffers with this illness, and was struck down with the sudden onset of such 2 and a half years ago, when she was 52 years old.
Since this time I have struggled to get the adult mental health team to accept that her illness is NOT just because of her alcohol problem, but is infact a form of dementia.
Because I work with ppl with dementia, I know that they are not used to the illness of dementia and basically dont have a clue about it as they refer to the older adult team for such cases.... except my mums!
Anyway I have lots more that I could type, but I would like to hear from anyone else who may be familiar with this illness.
