Anxiety fills my all as I unlock your door
A friendly greeting comes from me I can’t do any more
Awaiting just an answer in any shape or form
And thanking someone somewhere when you sound ‘the norm’
I’m always glad to see you though things are looking dim
Your eyes are not the twinkling lights your body not so trim
The Dad I knew is long gone I’m left with just a shell
Of the caring dad and papa that we all knew so well
I hate this horrible disease that’s taking you away
I know you don’t mean the things you sometimes say
I just want you to have some peace so be on your way
And meet with Mum and family who you so dearly miss
