Bill has really put so much already into getting dementia in the spotlight and I would gladly get behind his venture to keep Jo and others in the national forefront of social care change. My mum was diagnosed early, meaning we had quite a few years where she was able to live her life on her terms with a few tweaks to things to make sure she didn’t have to deal with stuff that confused her. We got the POAs in place, I did my research for the future. It has not been easy at all but I do think early diagnosis enables the family to get things in place . If dementia diagnosis is falling then that is a poor indictment of society and it’s care systems. Sometimes the question is raised about the point of getting a diagnosis, I feel there is every point and the earlier the better. So yes , let’s talk about dementia .
