Dementia sufferer's behaviour is not always pleasant or easy to cope with and much of it is very sad to witness. Residents in a care setting are often very confused, anxious and behave in strange ways trying in their own way to cope with whatever their confusion brings.
I'm so glad that we as visitors do continue to try to give well meant help and even if our best efforts are not well received, we understand how complex their needs might be. Staff are trained to deal with such difficult behaviour and (hopefully) know each individual personality in their care. I still think thata little kind action or word can help to make many residents feel a sense of well being.
