Hi, to my amazement my husband has finally accepted he needs a walking aid, trip to mobility shop and we purchased one . He actually likes it, it has a seat as well. It’s taken so long to achieve this as he’s so stubborn that he didn’t need help, how he hasn’t fallen over by now I’ll never know but going forward it’s a result.

@Postmill - good to hear as this can often be a bit of a battle ground. My father swore he didn't need a mobility aid until he was having falls. He now tells everyone I got it for him so I don't have to look after him!
Just to say, it is worth checking the brakes/tyres if it has those, regularly to make sure everything is in working order, and ferrules (the rubber endy bit) on sticks to ensure they are not to worn down.
