My husband has vascular dementia and alzheimers and I am finding life so hard. I feel I am a powder keg ready to explode at any minute . I know he cannot help his condition but I need coping mechanisms if there are any to handle the situation. I know my stress levels are through the roof and I take it out on family and it isn't there fault. Can anyone help .

Hello @Twinny, welcome to the forum. I can't speak for others on the forum but I'd guess at one time or another almost all of us have felt like screaming... Do you have any help or respite? It sounds to me as though you need a chance to step back for an hour or so.

There are several things that might help a little. Can you visit your GP and say how you feel ? You maybe able to access counselling support
Can you have a chat with Admiral nurses, they may be able to give advice for trigger points
Mostly I think you need a break
Carers coming in so that you can get out?
A respite admission?
Plus post here and rant away

Have you suddenly become overwhelmed? Have things got worse? Getting it down here in this forum space may help.
