Have you been affected by dementia?

Do you use the internet regularly?

Can you spare some time to help us improve our online support community?

If you answered yes to the three questions above, we’d love to hear from you.

We are looking for people from the Greater London area who can help us improve Talking Point by taking part in a usability test. This test will help us to identify the things that are easy - and difficult - about using Talking Point. This will help make Talking Point easier for everyone to use.

What would I need to do?

You would need to be able to come to London (London Bridge area) on 12 or 13 September for an informal one hour meeting. During this time you’d sit with one other person and carry out some tasks on a computer while sharing your thoughts and comments.

Who are you looking for?

We need to hear from people who are affected by dementia and:

- are Talking Point members and post at least once a month
OR
- aren’t members of Talking Point and may not even be aware of it

I’d like to help. How can I get involved?

The best way to get involved is to register your interest by clicking on the link below. It’ll only take 5 minutes to complete.

Many thanks for your support

Serena :)

Test accounts and a request for your help!

Hi everyone

I thought I should let you know that the agency who are helping us with our website testing project will be setting up a couple of 'dummy' user accounts, so that they can explore Talking Point before the testing begins.

This is one of them, but they will be setting up a couple more accounts over the coming days:

http://forum.alzheimers.org.uk/member.php?30413-Test1_ignore

It's also likely there will be some posts from test accounts next Wednesday and Thursday, which is when we are doing the testing.

We'll try to make it as obvious as possible that these are test accounts, and we'll remove all test content as soon as we can.

---

Thanks to everyone who has already volunteered to help us with this project. We really appreciate it, and have now recruited several volunteers. :)

We still need a couple more people however, so if you'd be interested in helping us test Talking Point, and if you are:

- a member of Talking Point who uses the forum regularly

- based in or around London

- available to travel to London Bridge next Wednesday, 12 September (at any time during the day), or Thursday, 13 September (morning only)

it would be great to hear from you. We will pay travel expenses and are offering £20 amazon vouchers to all volunteers as a thank you.

NB Recruitment has now closed - thank you :)

Many thanks,

Update

Hi everyone,

Testing is currently underway on Talking Point, to help us improve the community for everyone. This will take place today, tomorrow and on Thursday.

Please do ignore posts on the following thread which has been set up for testing purposes:
http://forum.alzheimers.org.uk/showthread.php?48364-What-kind-of-benefits-can-I-get-as-a-carer

Please also ignore the following users as these are test accounts:
http://forum.alzheimers.org.uk/member.php?30515-Thyme-s-Time
http://forum.alzheimers.org.uk/member.php?30413-Test1_ignore
http://forum.alzheimers.org.uk/member.php?30414-Test2_ignore

Feedback from the tests will help to make Talking Point easier to use for everyone.

Thanks :)
