Hi, my name is Shar.
My 84 year old mother-in-law has lived with us for five and a half years. She has dementia and I care for her full-time. I hope to find commonality with others on this forum that will help me to learn more about dementia.

Hello @SharShar and welcome to the forum from me also. You will find lots of empathy and support here. If you have any particular questions you might find it useful to start a thread in the - I care for a person with dementia area. I have included a link below.

I'm literally in a boat right now. Since mother nature has retired me as a carer for both wife and mum after something over 10 years I never thought I'd miss it, but I do.
Caring is hard but moving on can be too.
My advice is to expect the unexpected, no two people's stories and circumstances are the same but we all have a lot in common. K
