MIL and FIL are both in a care home and seem very happy there. They had help with fees from local authority. We have just sold there home to pay for the fees.
Well the same week we told them the LA have had money back and the care home has now increased MIL fees to £150 more a week??? No notice given.
Obviously we want to save them as much as possible , because with 2 of them in there the house money is not going to last very long.
Should we argue this?

When the money runs out the LA will have to stump up so I would be inclined to let it go as their home has been sold for that purpose.

Have they been paying LA rates before and are now paying self-funding rates? Because they will always be higher, but the increase should have been explained to you.
