Hello everyone. My mum is currently in a rehabilitation hospital and we have been told she is now ready for discharge we should start looking for an EMI nursing home. Does anyone know whether this category of care would qualify for any financial allowance to help pay for her care? Thank you.

Not necessarily.
She should have a CHC assessment before she leaves the hospital, but this might result in her getting CHC awarded (difficult to get), having a nursing care allowance (most likely), or even having nothing.
You should get a letter telling you the results of the CHC assessment.

If she goes to a nursing home, it shouldn't be too difficult to become eligible for Funded Nursing Care (FNC), which is a contribution of £155 a week. Other than that, it's a question of her personal finances - if she has less than £23,250, Social Services will contribute.
