Would you like to tell the Department of Health about your experiences?

The Dementia 2020 Citizens’ Engagement Programme, developed with people with dementia and carers, means that the Department of Health want to hear first-hand from people with dementia, their families and carers.

They want to know if policies on improving dementia care and support are making a positive difference, where further improvements may be needed and to influence and improve the delivery of services and support at a local level.

They would like to hear from you if:
  • You received a dementia diagnosis between November 2014 and November 2016
  • You have been providing unpaid care and support for a friend or family member with dementia who was diagnosed between November 2014 and November 2016

The survey aims to to find out people’s views and experiences of dementia. The survey focuses on the quality and experience of getting a diagnosis, the level of care and support received after a diagnosis and how aware and understanding of dementia people in local communities are.

NB The consultation will be open until 31 January 2017.
