Ive found this to be an excellent paperback book for anyone who is learning to care/visit someone with an Alzheimers diagnosis. Unfortunately, it is a bit americanised but the basis of who, what, when, why, how are all there. It has been invaluable for me in so many ways. It has helped me to see beyond the harsh words and insults that have been thrown at me by my Mum who would be devastated if she were able to understand that she has this cruel disease. It has helped me become a less selfish, more understanding person who now counts upwards to 10 before responding to Mum. It has shown me that it is OK to walk away and not visit every day as I need my strength and health too. Most of all it is helping me to create some special memories and pleasurable moments for both of us.:)
