Can anyone recommend a "Day Chair"? My mother is unable to move so is in a wheelchair all day.

Recently we got her an Altitude Day Chair which sadly has not worked out to be suitable so we're searching for a replacement.... The main problem we have is finding one to fit through doorways.

    Thanks in advance.

Seating matters Sorento chair. An armchair but very light weight and will go through doorways. On casters so easily moved. Tilt in space to minimise pressure problems.
We have to use a hoist for my husband so it does allow him to sit out during the day.
It is quite high off the ground but worth a l look

Have you asked an OT for an assessment yet?

Recently got my mum one of these:-

    http://www.yorkshirecareequipment.com/seating/care-chairs/duo

It is totally flexible, keeps the body in alignment and have had no problem getting it through doorways. It is tilt and space also.

They are expensive but we managed to get funding for it with the help of the physiotheraptist.

Thanks for all your help folks. We finally managed to get a chair sorted, we had to have a chair put onto a child's chassis due to narrow doors.

OT etc were the usual waste of time.

    Hopefully it will arrive soon.

    Thanks again.
