like my granddaughter thinks, all rainbows and unicorns! i dont claim it as it just gets taken off another benefit so whats the point. because i dont claim carers, pension credit gives the disability element of it as well.

Any increase in carers allowance would definitely be welcome. However a lot of people like myself are over pension age and we can’t claim this allowance.
Wouldn’t a couple of weeks (++😂) free respite make us feel at least acknowledged JB

I care for my mum in the late stages but was told it would affect her pension credit so don't bother.... (i am lucky to work from home with an understanding employer but would like to reduce,my hours more with carers allowance)

Sigh, not holding my breath on this one. Consultations, Royal Commissions, parliamentary committee meetings/reports... Don't get me wrong it would be very welcome indeed but it's just political posturing before the upcoming general election. Apologies for being a cynic haha
