Care fees advice agencies -- any experiences?

Hello,

I'm at the start of a (I suspect) long journey trying to understand the funding of care for my father who has Alzheimer's. He and my mom have saved all their lives, so will have to pay for his care themselves.

I've noticed that there are various agencies who offer advice and support: 'Carepod'; 'Care Funding Advice Service'; 'Paying for Care'.

Does anyone have any experience of using any of these agencies?
Or experience of other places which offer good advice?

Thanks, Nick72.

I'm not saying that these agencies (which I have not heard of) might not provide a valuable service for those people that have no back up, but I suspect that they will give you the information that is freely available, particularly if you have access to this sort of forum.

For example, most of the rules that govern LA funding and when a person must pay for care are covered by this document. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa...guidance_web_publishing_2013_-_06-20rc_1_.pdf

Now if you need specialist legal advice after reading this (and yes, it's quite long) I would suggest that what you need is specialist legal advice, as in a solicitor not an agency like this.

OK, Thanks.
