Hi everyone,
My wife, who was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2010, and I are in our early 80s. We live in a retirement village and have access to a 24/7 Care Team. We moved here June 2013 and have not regretted it. There are many activities to join in but recently my wife cannot be left alone and needs constant attention/supervision. She responds very well to the carers which allows me shop and have some time to myself.

Hello @Eftee and welcome to Talking Point.

It sounds like you have made a good move there. Im glad you have people to look after her and give you a break.

Hello @Eftee

It must be very reassuring for you to have 24/7 care on hand now your wife cannot be left alone. What a wise decision you made.

I hope your post will encourage others in a similar position to take such a decisive step if the facility is available for them.

Welcome to Talking Point. I hope you will find it helpful and supportive.

There are some wonderful places in UK but out of reach financially for many. Holland has some really good schemes. I am glad to hear that you have such a place Eftee. Let's hope more become available.
