Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help. My mum has end stage dementia. She had a stroke 2 weeks ago. She is not eating or drinking a lot. One worrying thing is she doesn't move in her hospital bed which obviously is seizing her body up and making bed baths/changing her very painful. She seems to think she is on a table and is petrified of falling. Have tried reassuring her etc but no joy. Anyone got any ideas how I can get her to relax in bed?

This describes my symptoms of vertigo @Flossie2. Has this been considered?

If your mum is at end stage dementia has palliative care been discussed to provide adequate pain relief?

Please discuss this with the hospital.

This is the expression I saw on my husband`s face and the carers told me he was in pain. A syringe driver was put in place for palliative care. It administered measured doses of Morphine. As soon as it took effect my husband`s expression was peaceful again.
