Welcome to the forum
@Beverley211163.
I‘m so sorry to read about your dad. It must be so worrying for you.
I was wondering a couple of things.
Firstly do you have power of attorney for your dad? I think it would be a good idea to contact your dad’s GP and discuss his situation with them. If you don’t have POA they may not be prepared to talk to you but I always found my mum’s GP discussed everything with me without a POA. You could note down your concerns and email or hand them into the surgery. Hopefully the GP will make arrangements to see your dad.
Secondly I wondered if your dad has had an assessment of needs and if he has the support of carers. I would be contacting the social work department and letting them know that your dad is very vulnerable. Either he needs an assessment of his needs or any current assessment needs to be updated. If he hasn’t been through the process this may be of help -
What are care assessments and how can people with dementia and their carers access them? This information is for care and support in England.
