It's working and there is no need to prompt them to confuse you with facts and maybe upset things.

No, if it continues to work I'll let sleeping dogs lie, if it ain't broke don't fix it,;) I'll only contact them if it persistently doesn't work

Perhaps you can also help me nitram? I have a laptop which i have set to only do windows updates that are important and when i want, not automaticly, however a lot of the time the updates scramble my laptop and then i have to run a system restore which works but it takes some time (days) to return to normal,do you know
the cause of this and any way to prevent it? I can find nothing online apart from allowing no updates which i do not wish to do.

What OS?
Which windows update option have you actually set?
In this context, what does 'scramble' mean?
Do you get any error messages? If so post exact message(s).
If you look at update history you may find that it is one specific update that keeps failing, with knowledge of OS I can point you to update history or you can Google.
