Haven't been on for a while - it's been busy!
About 3 weeks ago my dad had a fall in his EMI home and bumped his forehead quite badly. Enough to have a few butterfly stitches.
The strangest thing is that since the bump he is able to formulate *real* words, and string them into a sentence that makes sense, using a clear strong voice. This is after 6 months of talking gobbledegook in a an incoherent whisper, or not talking at all.
He actually said "Do you know, I am hungry!" and I asked him if he wanted a biscuit and he said "That sounds like a good idea" amongst other brief but clear sentences. The staff also told me that he spent the day talking in gaelic last week (he is Irish and learnt it as a child).
So I am tryng to make the most of it as I know it won't last ;-)
Just wanted to share with people who would understand.
