We took our mother off sleeping tablets(molipaxin and olanzapine) as they werent really working-she would often be up 30 plus hours, agitated, restless, never yawned during these moments.

We went back to a hot whiskey. She isnt as agitated or restless and yawns now and will tire herself out more quuickly, the longest she would wander now would be a couple hours.Shes more managable off them as understands us more and not as drugged looking. Shes not drowsy walking around and so less chance of a fall now.

Nights are becoming hard again though. She is back and forth to toilet alot or there will be times when she wont go back to bed.It takes a long time to settle and we find our days and nights are rolling in to one with no time for ourselves.

We were looking in to other options ,like a relaxer such as attivan or other sleep aids that arent anti psychotic or for moods etc

Any suggestions?

Hi there, my Dad was given Trazadone to help with his anxiety, agitation and restlessness and this helped in the evenings too. He suffers a lot from sundowning which has gotten worse (he's now been sectioned) but the Traz did help initially.
