Hi
My name is Cathy ,I am 59 and I've recently been diagnosed with vascular dementia. When the doctor told me it was like I'd been hit with a brick.I have now been prescribed Simvastatin and Clopidogrel Zentiva, aswell as taking my other meds for arthritis. I'm scared of what is going to happen and how long before the dementia starts getting worse .

Hi Cathy
You are among friends here.
I remember the feeling of being hit with a brick when you here the diagnosis. We can't tell you how quick or what will happen with this dreadful disease but we can make friends with you and support you. Keep taking your medication. Simvastatin will keep cholesterol under control while clopidogrel stops blood clots forming in your brain. Together they reduce the chance of more vascular damage up there.
I got my diagnosis 2 years ago. I have good times and bad times. Overall more good.
Make sure you enjoy the good and let us all support you during the bad
John
