My hubby has fallen out of bed several times, but never hurt himself. We are both reluctant about using bed rails. Ages ago I saw a mattress advertised (should have taken note of where) that had raised edges to that if someone rolled towards the edge they were stopped by the lip of the bed. Has anyone on here seen anything like that. I have just spent ages looking online but the only one I could see was by a US company.

Just had a Google, if you look for 'edge support' you will find mattresses that are firmer at the edge without having a raised edge, some claim to lessen the chance of falling out of bed.
Very hard to get through the marketing hype to see what really is on offer.

Attaching
some packing on the underside of the fitted sheet (pipe insulation?) might be worth a try,

@nitram Thank you, I had a look at some of the firm edge mattresses but they are not really what I am looking for. I am considering going for a low bed, our current divan is quite high. And perhaps use a wedge at the side.
