TO MY CARER AND FRIENDS

I NEED YOU DO NOT ASK ME TO REMEMBER
DO NOT TRY TO MAKE ME UNDERSTAND
LET ME REST AND KNOW YOU ARE WITH ME
KISS MY CHEEK AND HOLD MY HAND
IM CONFUSED BEYOND YOUR CONCEPT
I AM SAD AND I AM LOST
ALL I KNOW IS THAT I NEED YOU
TO BE WITH ME AT ALL COST
DO NOT LOSE YOUR PATIENCE WITH ME
DO NOT SCOLD OR CURSE OR CRY
I CANT HELP THE WAY IM ACTING
CANT BE DIFFERENT ,THO I TRY

i AM HIS CARER AND WHEN I AM STRETCHED AND ABOUT TO SHOUT I READ THIS MANTA AND IT SLOWS ME DOWN

Hello Rosetree,

Thanks for posting your mantra.

Those are good words - compassionate communication made simple - very touching.

Best wishes :)

I have seen this before and it always makes me tearful. It captures the vulnerability of dementia.
