Hi Not to sure how relevant this post is going to be but would like to see if there are any more people out there in the same position as I am. I have been diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment at the ripe age of 54 after a year off testing and treatment by a specialist for the dementia team in South Yorkshire. I was told by him that he did not want to label me with dementia at this stage as there was no medication he felt would help me but would do 6 monthly appointments and annual test to keep an eye on it. I have also got a heart problem and had a stroke as well so at this stage not able to work. I have recently moved to Leeds to be closer to my children and in the process of transferring treatment which has been long winded but getting there. At the moment waiting for a appointment from the young persons dementia team. What I am trying to find out is if there is a support group or organization that is based in Leeds .
