My husband has dementia just been given diagnosis I am just trying to come to terms with it all. My biggest problem is the practicalities of it is that I have severe mobility and other health problems( sounds only thinking of myself) but we have been married 42yrs and I want to be able to look after him as long as possible I know he will refuse to have anyone in the house but as a wheelchair user (but still get around bungalow) know we will help as things changing quickly. Had realised for a year but he refused to go see GP until failed the mental capacity assessment to change will and to get a lasting power of attorney, mine went through MCA not needed but his didn’t. Trying to come to terms with all
