I feel lost and I am new to all of this as a caregiver

Hello all, I cared for my mom with dementia for about 4 years in the home until recently it got worst and I can not give her the care she needs. It has been a battle with keeping her in a facility. I just feel so alone and lost. I know this decision was best and I know at this point I can not afford for her to be home. She is in a facility and they request that she gets a sitter for one on one but I can not afford that.

hi @Shaqretta

Welcome to the forum. There will be others along much more experienced than me but, if you're in the UK, I dont think you should be paying for your mums care. Your mum should be paying for her care from her assets and if her assets are less than £22k, then the local authority need to assess her and then they need to look to funding the 121 care if that's what they assess that is needed.

Why is it you think you need to afford to pay for your mother's care?
