Has anyone any experience of house insurance when the sole occupier is an elderly person with mixed dementia, exacerbated by a recent stroke who lacks capacity?
The SS want to return him home from temporary care. He has a history of unsafe episodes eg small fires in the microwave and oven ( now disconnected) and flooding the kitchen, going out and leaving the house unlocked etc.
We are very concerned about all aspects, including personal safety. Will his insurance still be valid ? We have FPoA and need to protect his assets, for his care.

I dont see why his insurance wouldnt be valid- the person is not usually assessed- only the brick and mortar.
