Hi I’m Wendy- my dad has alzheimers and vascular dementia.

My dad was diagnosed in 2017 when he was 82. He was ok at home until a fall and then went into a care home in 2021.
I chose a care home near me so that me and my family could visit often and take him out. This was a good decision as its stressful enough without me having to do a difficult journey to see him. He does miss his home but he would have missed it anyway once he was in residential care.
I get upset about the huge care costs as he had savings but they are diminishing fast.
