He is so vacant, feel as if I have already lost him

Sits, eyes closed, sort of nodding, moving his lips he's away somewhere, never really interacts now and yet this is only the middle stage I believe. He LOVED television, films in particular, that was his 'hobby', now although tv is on, he does not really watch it, will soon wander off, sweeping the floor, or wiping worktops. The person I knew has gone. Even the 'content in his own world' feeling seems to have gone. He is here physically, mentally he's gone and there is nothing I can do.

I’m sorry. That’s what my dad is like too, it’s unbelievably sad. Me and my mum try to engage with him as much as possible but I don’t really know what else you can do.
