Diarrhoea

My Mum is on 10mg of Donepezil and has been for over a year and a half.

She has recently been having really lose poos that need a lot of wiping.

She does have some sugar free, low sugar products to limit her intake and need for sweet stuff.
I know that these can cause diarrhoea as can donepezil but it seems to have happened all of sudden.

Any advice? Anyone had similar experiences?

If this has been going on for more than two or three days I would contact her GP for some advice. In the meantime try and keep her fluid intake up to guard against dehydration.

You know the possible causes of loose bowel movements @mickeyjd, medication and sugar free or low sugar products. If nothing in the diet has changed, there might be a medical cause

Thanks for the replies.

It's a week today since it started. It's a bit inconsistent. Sometimes it is bad, other times it's fine.

I understand that medication can cause it but after so long on the meds, I can't see it being that.

The low sugar/sugar free products haven't changed either.

I think it might be worth a GP appointment.
