A while ago I was sitting in on a CHC meeting and funding was granted for another year.

The CHC nurse then advised the Daughter to get herself in to a position to pay for her mother's care as she may not qualify in 12 months time.

The nurse said sell the mother's house but it was jointly owned.

We knew the daughter could not be forced to sell as a joint owner occupier.
What also did not make sense was 2 nurses at the home had said the mother was unlikely to be alive in 6 months time.

Obviously the CHC nurse was wanting funds to be available had the mother been alive in 12 months by some remote chance.

Sadly the mother died 5 weeks later.

What is annoying is if she had taken the CHC nurses word and had sold there would have been a lot of work and expense to cover a situation which never happened.

Glad you were with her, so could put her straight.

It really bothers me that those who should know, give out the wrong info.
I have no proof but feel it could be deliberate, as I read of it on here so often.
What of those poor people who believe the er professionals and don't check it out first before selling homes or paying top ups.
to me it seems as though people are being penalised for being ill.
