I am a volunteer with the Society’s LGBT Carers group. One of my callers is caring for his partner who has advanced dementia. He has applied to the Court of Protection for permission to become a deputy for personal welfare matters only (One of his partner’s relatives is receiver and hence handles financial matters). The granting of permission to apply is taking an age and my caller is naturally anxious. I was wondering if anyone else has had experience of applying to the Court under the new arrangements?
