Hi, I’m back in the group…
I wonder if anyone has been successful in being awarded CONTINUING HEALTH CARE FUNDING?
We are currently funding 24 hour 1:1 care for my husband.
We have been advised by our mental health advisor that we should apply for CHC.
We are being told by his care home that this is never awarded.
Can anyone verify this as being true or false please?

Hello @Joy8 and welcome back. It is very difficult to get CHC funding but it is not impossible, and some members here have been successful. It's a good idea to take the time to read through all of the relevant documents/information as the process is not easy to navigate, and you will also need good supporting medical evidence and also good care notes from the care home.

The factsheet below provides an overview of the CHC process, and there is also a link to download or order a more detailed leaflet:

We also have two threads here which, although quite lengthy, are worth a read as there are some good advice/tips:

Hope this helps.
