Hi everyone - I'm new to talking point. My dad has Alzheimers and is cared for by my mum and myself and brothers. We desperately want to look after him at the family home as his wish was not to go into care. Dad is now starting to wander and will open the front door at all times of the day / night. Does anyone know of a safety system we could use to keep dad safe but not so he is locked in please? Any guidance would be really much appreciated. Thanks

Sencit

Yes, I use a Sencit monitor. It cost about £150. It has an add on to let you know when the front door opens. I don't live in the same house so it sends me a text message. It also tells me if there has been no movement during the day or extra movement at night or if the house is too hot or too cold or has had a power cut. Google it Sencit.
I'm sure you could buy cheaper alarms to warn you the door was opened. Like a shop bell. Google door sensor.
